STEP 6: Attend the 4-Hour Follow up Course
STEP 1: Select one of the California approved on-line Hunter Education Courses AND complete the on-line portion. DOWNLOAD the completion voucher.
Note: there is a fee for the voucher.
STEP 2: Obtain the required "GO ID" and Document Number
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2016, THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF FISH AND WILDLIFE (DFW) HAS INSTITUTED A NEW PROCEDURE FOR THE REGISTRATION OF A HUNTER EDUCATION COURSE.
We have set up this website to allow you to "toggle" between this site, that of the DFW, and the State's Vendor to fulfill the registration requirements.
Below are the steps, and appropriate links to complete this process. For questions or comments, please contact the Department of Fish and Wildlife and / or the Event Manager Host. DO NOT contact the Hunter Education Instructor.
1. Students are NOT to bring firearms or
ammo into the classroom.
2. Video or Audio recordings are prohibited.
3. Each student will be assigned 1 (one)
chapter to orally review for the class
(10 minute maximum).
STEP 5: Download and sign the Student Consent Form.
STEP 3: Select and Sign-up for a 4-Hour Follow-up Course
STEP 4: Pay for the course - $20.00 - to receive your course materials.
You may pay via Credit card or Paypal. Upon completion of payment, Paypal will issue a first class mailing label to the instructor. You student manual and class assignment will be mailed to you by the instructor.

Registration is conducted online, the classroom fee is non-refundable. The Class size is limited to 10 students and is filled on a first come, first served basis.
This is a non-teaching course. It is the administrative part of the Hunter Education process for obtaining your Hunting License. The on-line course is not recommended for students under the age of 16.
